Call for Proposals: Quantum Technology Partnership Resource Fund

The UK Quantum Technology Hub Sensors and Timing are pleased to announce the third Call for Proposals for the Quantum Technology Partnership Resource Fund (PRF). This call intends to disseminate £200,000 of PRF funding on projects which signify new, or significantly enhanced collaborations with industry, to help open up new high impact collaborative pathways for academic and industry. The Hub is interested in projects which further explore applications of the technologies developed within the QT Hub with new industrial collaborators or industry sectors.

The mission of the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Timing, which is led by the University of Birmingham and partnered with the Universities of Sussex, Glasgow, Strathclyde, Imperial, Liverpool John Moores, Southampton, Nottingham, NPL and the British Geological Survey, is to translate state-of-the-art lab technology into deployable practical devices. Collaboration is at the heart of the Hub, with academics and leading companies working together to translate research into marketable applications. The Quantum Technology Hub is an international centre of excellence bringing together world-leading physicists, engineers, industry and end-users.

The Partnership Resource Fund is a £2million fund which aims to foster a coherent UK National Quantum Technology Programme by promoting inclusiveness and cohesiveness across the entire national quantum sensors and timing landscape. The Fund also intends to facilitate further engagement with the wider scientific, industry, government, funding and public communities, and to also build commercial confidence to unlock additional industrial investment to promote follow-on projects funded within ISCF, Dstl or directly by industry as a route to impact.

Due to the expected high levels of interest in this call, the Hub has implemented a two-stage submission process. The deadline for the first submission stage is 5pm on 31st January 2022, to be sent to Dr Jo Smart at j.c.smart@bham.ac.uk. Details for application are available in the PRF Call for Proposals guidelines.
